Seniors First

Placer County seniors are facing an affordable housing crisis. Living on limited fixed incomes and faced with increasing rental rates, many local seniors are having difficulty finding housing that fits their budget and the need to be close to transportation and other necessary services.

Seniors First exists to provide programs, services and long-term support to Placer County seniors so that they may maintain their independence as long as possible. Seniors first is working to make this vision a reality by offering programs that provide safe and reliable transportation, nutritious meals, visits to the homebound, and more.

Project GO, Inc.

Thank you for taking a strong lead in helping dispel the negativity around residents of affordable housing by giving us actual faces and stories.  It’s important!

Project GO, Inc. has been a non-profit affordable housing developer in Placer County since 1989, and we are proud that we have successfully housed over 11,252 individuals since that time.  Everything that our staff of 40 employees does on a daily basis is directed towards the housing needs of the low to moderate income and at-risk families and senior residents of Placer County.

Advocates for Mentally Ill Housing, Inc.

Affordable housing is the foundation necessary for people with disabilities to achieve independence and long term stability. Housing is a huge barrier in Placer County, as people with disabilities cannot afford the high rents that are way above the national average. Building or purchasing existing projects and converting them to affordable housing will help people with disabilities live in Placer County.

Advocates for Mentally Ill Housing, Inc. provides housing, employment and life skills programs to residents of Placer County, who otherwise might be homeless. Our Mission is to enrich the lives of placer county residents with a mental illness by providing housing, employment, and supportive services.

Lighthouse Counseling & Family Resource Center

Affordable housing makes our community stronger by providing housing for our local workforce and revitalizing areas with increased jobs and sales taxes to the local economy.

Lighthouse Counseling & Family Resource Center is a non-profit organization with a goal to ensure that every resident of Placer County lives a safe, healthy and productive life. To achieve this end, we provide readily accessible services at no cost to children, youth, adults, and families who need physical, emotional and/or mental health resources to improve their quality of life.

KidsFirst

KidsFirst feels affordable housing is a critical need in Placer County. KidsFirst deals first hand not only with our clients, but with our staff in their attempt to find housing that is affordable. Because of the lack of affordable housing, families struggle to find housing in the first place and those that are affordable in the second. Many staff live outside Placer County and commute because of the lack of affordable housing – further impacting our environment and highways.

KidsFirst is a private, non-profit organization. KidsFirst’s mission is to end child abuse and neglect. Our vision is that all children live in a safe, healthy, and nurturing home. We are dedicated to helping families by providing them with the tools they need to cope with difficult life circumstances before they become overwhelming. With counseling and family resource centers in Auburn and Roseville, our programs target the most vulnerable children, families and neighborhoods.

Stand Up Placer

Stand Up Placer stands firmly behind the movement to increase Placer County residents’ access to affordable and workforce housing. Lack of affordable housing in our community leads to a large percentage of domestic violence victims staying in highly dangerous situations for a much longer time. 80% of domestic violence survivors polled stated that access to affordable housing was one of their main goals second only to safety. 90% of homeless women have experienced severe domestic violence or sexual assault. As a community, we need to ensure that victims of domestic violence have access to affordable housing and the ability to achieve safety and security, both for themselves and for their families.

Stand Up Placer is a private, non-profit community-based organization providing comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Placer County. We currently have 25 paid staff members and over 30 volunteers working together to provide around the clock services to victims of abuse and their families.
